  • Joining the largest comprehensive Pain Management group in Las Vegas
    • Currently 4 Pain Anesthesiologists and 10 NPs
  • Must be BE/BC Anesthesiology/PM&R & Pain Medicine
  • Outpatient only
    • No evening or weekend calls
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • Average patients per day: 15 - 30 (depending on the center) with assistance of an NP

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patient reactions to surgery and anesthesia
  • Administer pain medication to lessen the intensity of post-surgical pain
  • Use appropriate methods of monitoring a patient's vital signs during surgery and recovery
  • Review patient records to identify potential risks and complications before, during, and after surgery; able to identify the effects of anesthesia on various organs before, during, and after surgery
  • Dispense medications that may be used during or after surgery
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for patients of all ages in the perioperative or periprocedural period
  • Serve as an expert in airway management including specialized techniques such as fiberoptic bronchoscopy, video laryngoscopy, and one lung ventilation
  • Document and review patients' histories
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Use specialized equipment including, but not limited to specialized monitoring devices, laryngoscopes, bronchoscopes, ventilators, and ultrasounds
  • Evaluate for and perform anesthetics including monitored anesthesia care, general anesthesia, and/or regional anesthesia as is appropriate for the patient
  • Placement of invasive monitoring as is appropriate for the patient
  • Provide acute and chronic pain management
  • Prescribe and administering treatments in all aspects of the specialty
  • Provide consultations or referring patients to specialists
  • Conduct and supervise direct patient care
  • Explain the risks, dangers, and expectations to patients
  • Consultations and follow-up in both the outpatient and inpatient areas

  • Operate the surgery center in a safe and efficient management of surgical procedures appropriate to the ambulatory setting and reviewed and approved by the Governing Board on an annual basis
  • Develop a professional staff optimizing opportunities at the surgery center directed towards the provision of efficient, economical and effective patient centered nursing care
  • Provide patient and family education to facilitate self-care and integration into the local community
  • Assess patient satisfaction with all services through the active support of the Governing Body
  • Maintain information regarding patients as private and confidential
  • Decrease the patient, family, friends and others anxiety and apprehension through patient knowledge and participation in his/her care
