About the Position
Refer patients to specialists when appropriate
Maintain accurate, timely medical records and documentation
Ensure compliance with CMS, hospital, and billing standards
Support appropriate coding (ICD-10, CPT) and medical necessity
Participate in chart audits, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives
Collaborate with coding and clinical teams for accurate billing and care coordination
Educate patients and families on foot health, prevention, wound care, and post-procedure care
Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and surgical teams
Provide inpatient consultation services as needed
Prescribe medications in accordance with state laws and hospital policies
Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans accordingly
Comply with DEA and controlled substance regulations
Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Participate in medical staff meetings, peer review, and quality initiatives
Maintain professional conduct and adhere to organizational standards
Follow infection prevention, OSHA, and safety protocols
Promote a safe clinical environment for patients and staff
Perform other responsibilities within scope of licensure and clinical privileges as assigned
