About the Position

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of foot and ankle conditions
  • Perform detailed history and physical exams, including assessment of related structures
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including diabetic foot complications and wound care
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans within scope of clinical privileges
  • Perform office-based and hospital-based podiatric procedures
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including imaging and laboratory studies
  • Refer patients to specialists when appropriate

    • Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate, timely medical records and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with CMS, hospital, and billing standards

  • Support appropriate coding (ICD-10, CPT) and medical necessity

  • Participate in chart audits, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with coding and clinical teams for accurate billing and care coordination

    • Patient Care & Coordination
  • Educate patients and families on foot health, prevention, wound care, and post-procedure care

  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and surgical teams

  • Provide inpatient consultation services as needed

    • Medication Management
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state laws and hospital policies

  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans accordingly

  • Comply with DEA and controlled substance regulations

  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Participate in medical staff meetings, peer review, and quality initiatives

  • Maintain professional conduct and adhere to organizational standards

  • Promote a safe clinical environment for patients and staff
